Targeting 1/0 Touring Car racing

The O.S. SPEED 12TZ Spec II is a special “factory tuned” engine based on the MAX-12TZ Series high performance engine designed for 1/10 GP car racing. The engine is IFMAR legal and has the potential to win the IFMAR World Championships.




Internal parts have been designed for super high rpm operation.

Material, porting and timing have been developed through exhaustive research and development.

 

Scavenging configuration

The ultimate fuel mixture transfer has been developed basing on the MAX-12TZ-T5.

Reducing friction loss

A DLC coating has been applied to crankshaft to reduce frictional loss as well as increase durability at the high (40,000 r.p.m.) at which the engine operates. A ceramic rear ball bearing is also utilized to further reduce frictional loss.


Ultra light weight magnesium head manufactured by office ZPI.

A magnesium head is employed which is approximately 35% lighter than the standard 12TZ head, which contributes to a lower chassis center of gravity.


A blue rocker cover is utilized to represent the latest generationCarburetor restrictor

A special configuration 5.5mm intake restrictor bearing the O.S. SPEED logo is employed.

Various types are available for this engine.
Connection: Joint tube type or Spring connect type
Exhaust outlet dia.: 60mm or 52mm (IFMAR legal) Exhaust direction: Right side (R) or Left side (L)
