Exactly what power characteristic does a racing buggy need? We’re not talking about the kind of power characteristics you would want for an on-road racing engine, where it’s all about top end power. With a competition buggy engine, it's about easy throttling when taking a corner, better pickup and drop-off so that the buggy’s position can be controlled easily during a jump. Now, in response to requests from many top buggy enthusiasts, O.S. ENGINES introduce a new weapon in the buggy field.
This brand-new buggy engine, which immediately catches the eye with its avant-garde heat sink fin design, incorporates many unique new features. We have named this new engine the MAX-21VZ-B V Spec. To achieve the special combustion chamber shape and compression ratio, we have used the turbo plug specification, and even designed a special turbo plug (P3) exclusively for this engine. We have optimized the liner’s port timing inside the engine and used the same black crankcase as the 21VZ-R on-road engine. The carburetor is a special "21C" for this engine - a completely new style of carburetor both from the viewpoint of its power characteristics and from the inclusion of ‘reducers’ of different internal diameters. With this new double reducer "21C" carburetor, the driver can use the reducers to select either low fuel consumption or high power, allowing a wider range of engine control. This state-of-the-art engine incorporates all the know-how gained by O.S. over many, many years in the 1/8 racing buggy world.Once you have experienced this power and controllability for yourself, you will know what we mean. |
