49-PI TYPE II

In 1970, O.S. Engines was the first model engine manufacturer in the world to develop and market a model rotary engine. This at about the same time that a full size rotary engine automobile was first put on the market. The technical expertise and precision work put into the rotary engines was widely acclaimed throughout the world.

O.S. is now pleased to introduce the 49PI Type II - a newly refined engine characterized by it's excellent ease of handling, i.e., the primary goal being a more "user friendly" engine. A New carburetor design is utilized that easier to adjust and the engine can now be run using fuel with 18% synthetic oil, which is in common use today, rather than a castor oil based fuel.

The new 49PI Type II rotary engine is the culmination of O.S. Engine's world renowned expertise in the model rotary engine field. You will notice the difference between the old model and new engine as soon as you install the new engine in your model airplane and start it up. We are sure you will be well satisfied with he higher rpm sound that only a rotary engine can give.

An added feature of the carburetor that has been especially designed for 49PI-II engine is the use of an extended length intake venture that results in easier adjustment and a more stable power output.

Rotary engines are noted for developing their power at higher rpm and their lack of vibration. The new 49PI Type II, through modification of the internal parts and improved quality, has taken this to an even higher level.
