In 1/8th Scale Gas Buggy Racing more than high power alone is involved. The engine must have excellent ease of handling and operating characteristics, accelerate smoothly and respond to the driver's smallest throttle stick movements. Tires with maximum grip for the terrain and road surface being used are another contributing factor as is the driver's ability. These factors combined result in the driver placing in the winners circle.
