A new 20P carburetor features an enlarged, 5mm carb bore, a refinement that translates to faster starts and stronger exits from turns. At the same time, the 20P also retains the simple single needle design and the tuning ease of previous models. The user-friendly 20P carburetor has a single, screwdriver-adjustable needle, so drivers cab fine-tune settings without removing the body.

In the world of 1/8 scale buggy racing, the demands on the driver and engine are enormous and the standards are high. Engines that produce maximum power are only good. Though originally developed for .12 and .15 class engines, the “gsmall block” concept expanded into the .18 class with the Max-18CV-R. Its oversized cylinder and higher displacement delivered the bottom-end torque and explosive punch that power-hungry drivers wanted. Now, the Max-18CV-R is available in three new models designed to bring .18 performance to more drivers. The line-up of Max-18CV-R engines now includes a version with a recoil starter, another with a drum-type carburetor and a third with a pilot shaft for racing clutches.

Like the recoil-started Max-18CV-R shown, the pilot shaft and drum carburetor models feature a machined, blue-anodized heat sink head.
A simple linkage on the carburetor improves throttle response and minimizes installation work. The drum carburetor adds adjustment ease, as well.
